Story On Braden

Many of you are so kind and have asked about Braden. I thought the best way to get the info out to all of you would be to post it here. Over time we have discovered that Braden is having trouble eating. We have been working on foods since 5 months and he is now 9 months old. We have made no progress at all. About a month and a half ago, I contacted his Dr. to find out what the problem might be. He immediately sent us to a speech therapist (Sounds weird, but they also deal with eating issues) who tested Braden and discovered that he has problems with the muscles in his mouth being way too tight. His cheeks and tongue especially. Because of this, we are going twice a week for therapy sessions to teach him to relax those muscles. The therapist expects us to need to do therapy for about 6 months. We have only been one time and it was pretty overwhelming but, good at the same time. We have a lot of work to do and it is going to take a long time for him to be able to eat a good amount of anything. We are thankful, though, for the help we are getting and look forward to him being able to eat and get full. I will keep all of you guys posted on his progress. Keep him and us in your prayers.
